Member Nights at the Garden Two events per year (June and October) - $3,000
Member Nights at the Garden are exclusive member events that feature a specific garden and provide access to garden curators who will educate members about the significance of the plantings and garden design. Plant society members join Garden curators to provide demonstrations and corresponding activities that relate to the garden. It is a nice social time to get to know our staff and other members, grab a glass of wine, and take an evening stroll through the Garden.

Family Programming Sponsorships

The Garden provides the perfect background for families to spend quality time together.  Our events are mission-driven and all include botanical lessons or nature-based activities to help connect guests to the natural world.  Revenue from these events provide an important source of funding for MBG’s horticultural and educational programming.

Campfire Parties Three events per year $3,000
Children of all ages and their families go for a night hike, learn about nocturnal animals, stargaze with a guide and enjoy a fire-cooked meal. For some, this is their first experience enjoying the outdoors at night. Hot dogs, s’mores and cider will be provided.  Opportunities are available to host a Campfire party for an underserved population and impact children who might otherwise miss this experience. In addition to the Family Campfire Parties, we also offer Adult centered Campfire Parties that take the form of a date-night activity. One of the three Campfire Parties will be Adult centered each year

Adventure Fridays in My Big Backyard – Fridays in June-Aug - $3,000
This summer series gives families in Memphis an additional reason to visit the Garden on Fridays.  Each week a teacher-naturalist is stationed in our family garden with a new adventure to take part in…from bird-watching to pond studies to insect observations…there’s always something new to see and do.  These activities include scavenger hunts, games and hands-on learning and are free to visitors. We see many families, including several grandparents who care for children over the summer while parents are working, coming back week after week to play together in the garden.

Sprinkler Days at the Garden– 2 events in July and August - $1,500
The Garden will offer two Sprinkler Days in July and August from 10-1pm.  During these events, families get the chance to dash through the Garden’s sprinklers to cool down from the summer heat.  Special activities include the Kid’s Carwash, a splash zone for the smallest children and a water balloon yo-yo craft.  Approximately 250 people attended each event last year and we look forward to growing our audience this summer.
