Dogwood Trail

Meyer // Mcdonald Dogwood Trail     #mbgdogwoods

The official Dogwood Trail is interspersed with our Azalea Trail which begins at the Japanese Garden and winds on back to the Butterfly Garden. Members of the Memphis Garden Club made these Dogwood plantings possible. Our collection features both American Dogwoods and hybrids that blend America Dogwoods with Kousa Dogwoods. Americans are the earliest to bloom beginning in early April in Memphis. Kousa-American Hybrid Dogwoods extend the season blooming a bit later.

We also have Dogwoods planted many other places throughout the 96 acres, most notably the evergreen type of Dogwood planted in the Asian Garden - Cornus elliptica 'elsbry' Empress Of China™
