Featured Presenters:

Gloria and Rick Scarlet-The Sustainable Home  - Gloria and Rick Scarlet live near downtown Springfield Missouri. Rick will share their expertise in personal solar electricity collection (they produce enough that the power company pays them,) solar hot water heating, and practical rainwater collection for use in their home. They have remodeled their 1921 bungalow to be super-efficient, with foam insulation and low-energy-use appliances. They grow produce and fruits in their gardens and use bicycles for in-town transportation.

Richard Herman-Permaculture - Use & Care of the Earth - Herman, a certified permaculture consultant, lives a low-impact lifestyle by practicing sustainable agriculture and permaculture. He will share his success stories in maintaining a forest garden and no-till kitchen gardens, harvesting water from rooftops, collecting water in ponds and soil, developing intensive grazing systems, and recycling for home food production.

Rodney Burkley-Gardening with Worm Castings- Founder and Owner of WormWise Inc., Burkley has a vast knowledge of natural organic soil additives and composting teas. As a composting expert and disciple of better farming through building and maintaining healthy soils, he will offer ideas for improved yields from your garden

Gaining Ground Sustainability Institute of Mississippi - GGSIM is an extremely progressive consortium of educators, farmers, and conservationist activists working to improve quality of life through sustainable choices. Members of their board of directors will talk about their efforts to bring environmental sustainability into mainstream agriculture. Attendees will be inspired by success stories in their efforts to support sustainable agro-eco-businesses.
