Point of View: Beauty in the Small Things

On display in Fratelli’s Café, Monday – Saturday, 11 am – 1 pm.

Anna Parker began her creative journey many years ago as a young adult. Upon graduating from High School, Anna attended Memphis College of Art. There she worked with many exceptional teachers, including Ron Pekar, Veda Reed and Dolph Smith that helped hone her creativity and fondness of the Arts. The lessons learned there carried her into a new canvas of life, starting a family and career. Along with her husband, Terry, Anna’s medium of Art shifted to cultivating joy and creativity with their two children. School projects and scout badges is where Anna became the teacher.  Anna finds joy in seeing beauty in the small things and allows the creativity to flow through her paint brush. For the last several decades her most beloved medium of choice has been her family.  With her children grown, Anna has begun applying her love for Art using her next favorite medium, watercolor.  Watercolor possess the forever ebb and flow of a diverse assortment of hues and techniques that resonate remarkably well with Anna’s style.  Quite simply, watercolor is a highlighted sea of possibilities as is life. For the last three years Anna has been taking formal classes from renowned Memphis watercolor artist, Fred Rawlinson.  Anna is once again, a student to learn and expand her passion for Art. She takes the small beautiful and colorful points to collectively create vibrant pieces that are a style truly all her own. From her grandchildren’s faces to landscapes, viewing up close or at a distance one can appreciate the beauty in the small things from Anna’s Point of View.  For more information, please contact Anna @ 901-496-5021 or Tpark760@Bellsouth.net.
