The organic shapes of nature, especially trees have always interested Jim Henderson. His distinct brush marks and heavy irregular ink lines depict scenes of old barns, farmhouses, small churches and winding roads. “I enjoy the irreverence of watercolor and washes and the surprises you get, both good and bad. I paint in a colorful, stylized and somewhat whimsical manner that is recognizable, but not quite realistic.”
Visitors to this exhibit will discover a winding road of flowing images of the artist's memories of early years and his more recent discoveries in Mississippi and West Tennessee .
