Container Garden #mbgcontainergarden
The Madlinger family, who made Azalea Trail possible in 1966, helped the Memphis Botanic Garden convert a rain shelter into a beautiful and peaceful rest-stop—sometime after year 2000. Oversized containers, an arbor, and benches were purchased and the paths leading out from this nook were planted with interesting borders beds. Here you can find seasonally appropriate containter plantings and our lovely ring of Dwarf Acorus (see last photo below).
This garden is central to many other gardens and is about the halfway point if you began your visit in the Scultpure Garden, Rose Garden or My Big Backyard. It's the perfect place to consult your map, have a snack and a drink from our functional drinking fountain. Enjoy!
