This month the sunflowers are in full bloom and it’s the perfect time to stop by the International Paper Living Wall. The Living Wall is a planting that runs along the west side of The Live Garden. Whether you are here visiting the Garden or at a concert this summer, be sure to stop by this blend of architecture and landscape of beautiful sunflowers.
International Paper, who funded The Living Wall, worked together with Memphis Botanic Garden to create a sustainable planting that would be an act of conservation in itself.
With a length of approximately 1500 feet, the living wall planting utilizes sustainable gardening practices and demonstrates ways that eco-friendly gardening practices can enhance the landscape.
This garden gives back to the land by having a low-impact on resources. All materials used were sourced locally, and the water-wise plants need very little water to thrive. The Living Wall also provides beauty and a habitat for native flora and fauna.

As all good things take time, this garden is young and growing into its full potential, but you can learn about it through interpretive signs placed throughout The Living Wall. Please come watch it grow and learn how International Paper and Memphis Botanic Garden put the idea of "sustainable use of land" into the form of a beautiful garden.
