About the show from Joy Routt:
In the late 90's Artist Joy Routt and her friend Julie Hooker showed their art together. They had so much fun, they thought maybe other artists might like to join their group. Mostly through word of mouth, Joy and Julie found an eclectic group of fun, easy-going artists that enjoy working together to sell their art.
What makes our group unique is that we have artists from different backgrounds, with such different styles. Most of us have other jobs besides art, so there is not much time to just hang out together, however, when we do find the time, there is nothing like getting a bunch of free spirits together talking art.
It's a blast.
About the artists from the artists themselves:
Julie Thornton Hooker Julie Started painting professionally about 18 years ago.
Her favorite time to paint is late at night. She finds her favorite
tunes, turns the music up loud, and lets her creative juices flow.
She is known for her vibrant contemporary pieces, however, once in
awhile she will create the most incredible dream-like works of art.
Julie and Joy Routt teach art classes together.
Their students go from blank canvas to a finished art piece in just 2 ½ hours.
Classes range from 8 – 80 in size, and are great for all ages, and groups.

Ron Olson Ron Olson
Morning personality on highly ranked WMC-Fm100. Ron has been
a creative force of energy and enthusiasm on radio and television
well over 25 years. However, his creativity doesn’t stop when he is
off the air. Ron’s gift for writing and photography has added a special
layer to his life, but painting has become his passion. Ron’s fun
folk-art style has gotten lots of praise over the past few years.
Self-taught, he loves the mix of many mediums, with lots of surprise

Joy Phillips Routt Several generations of her family have dabbled in the land of art.
There is a certain sense of spirituality that comes with each stroke
of the brush. She signs her name Joy Phillips Routt to honor the past
generation of artists.
Joy likes to turn the music up load and paint all day long. She just loves
to paint no matter where, no matter when.
Landscape and contemporary pieces are her favorites, with lots of texture.
Joy has been painting for about 18 years. She participates in several art
events in the area. She does quite a bit of Commission work. Joy painted one of the “Tigers” for the University of Memphis100thAnniversary.
She and Julie Hooker teach art classes together. Classes range from 8 – 80
in size, and are for all ages and groups. Their students go from blank canvas

Lisa Ann Sulipeck Beauty can be found everywhere.
Labelled a daydreamer at a very young age, Lisa discovered as an adult,
her vivid imagination was actually a blessing. Born and raised in Memphis, Lisa is a self-taught artist. She has always believed that art is personal and her goal is to discover the individual charter from each piece of work. Lisa has immersed herself in the belief that “beauty can be found everywhere.”
Her paintbrush glides effortlessly of classic mediums, however, she believes
those quality materials…. redeemed, repurposed and rededicated…. also
provides a backdrop for unique, one of a kind creations. There’s majesty in
taking something once discarded and pulling a new beauty from it.
From fresh canvases to weathered planks, Lisa turns her traditional Southern
view into uncommon and exclusive pieces of art. Every medium is patiently
waiting to have its gift revealed.

Judy Joy Nocifora The artwork of Judy Joy Nocifora has unfolded
through many years of an insatiable desire to
create. In her teens, she began studying formal oil
painting with a highly regarded local instructor
and she continued a keen interest in the arts and
in the creative process throughout her years of
teaching in a program for gifted students.
Judy has had the great pleasure and opportunity to study with some of
America’s best known and admired masters on her journey to a
professional artist: Jeff Legg, Sherry McGraw, Dawn Whitelaw, Jennifer
McChristian, Peggi Kroll Roberts, John Pototschnik, Quang Ho, Camille
Przewodek, and Lori Putnam. One of her great joys, is to share what
she has learned with others as an oil painter, instructor.
Today, Judy travels extensively to paint and to share the beauty that she
finds everywhere through her oil paintings. In addition to exhibiting in
her hometown of Memphis/Germantown, TN, Judy is represented by
High Horse Gallery in Greenville, AL. When at home, you will find Judy
painting in her studio or out and about plein air painting.
Judy is a member of Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist
Society, American Women Artist, Memphis/Germantown Art League, and
Artists’Link of Memphis.
