The Artist Group Of Memphis Self-Curated Group Show

About the show from Joy Routt:

In  the late 90's Artist Joy Routt and her friend Julie Hooker showed their art together.  They had so much fun, they thought maybe other artists might like to join their group. Mostly through word of mouth, Joy and Julie found an eclectic group of fun, easy-going artists that enjoy working together to sell their art. What makes our group unique is that we have artists from different backgrounds, with such different styles.  Most of us have other jobs besides art, so there is not much time to just hang out together, however, when we do find the time, there is nothing like getting a bunch of free spirits together talking art. It's a blast.

About the artists from the artists themselves:

Julie Thornton Hooker Julie Started painting professionally about 18 years ago.   Her favorite time to paint is late at night.  She finds her favorite  tunes, turns the music up loud, and lets her creative juices flow. She is known for her vibrant contemporary pieces, however, once in awhile she will create the most incredible dream-like works of art.   Julie and Joy Routt teach art classes together. Their students go from blank canvas to a finished art piece in just 2 ½ hours.  Classes range from 8 – 80 in size, and are great for all ages, and groups.   Call:  jules4126@gmail.com  or text 901-483-4578

From fresh canvases to weathered planks, Lisa turns her traditional Southern view into uncommon and exclusive pieces of art.  Every medium is patiently waiting to have its gift revealed.
