Harwood Center and the Memphis Botanic Garden are
excited to announce our new partnership focusing on children in the Memphis
Community. Founded in 1957, Harwood Center is a specialized education
program for children aged 18 months to 5 years who are
experiencing delays in their development
or have a specific developmental
disability. Specialized preschool and behavior services are provided at
four locations, by highly qualified staff with low teacher child ratios. Harwood’s
goal is to help all children we serve to reach their full potential.
The
Memphis Botanic Garden has numerous programs and activities for young children
including My Big Back Yard, the Sensory Garden, and programs for children with
special needs.
On October 18th, the two organizations will be
hosting the Botanical Biergarten, presented by Southwestern Beverage
Distributing, from 6 to 9 at the Memphis Botanic Garden. Come taste fall
lagers and ales and sample food from area restaurants, while supporting children
in our community. The event will be set in the Garden, surrounded by
bonfires, beautiful lights, and live music by George McConnell and the Nonchalants.
