Origami in the Garden
From paper airplanes to NASA robots, Origami is all around us. Watch your students’ minds unfold as they explore this exhibit and learn about plants that make paper, origami in nature and origami’s role in STEM sciences then try your hand at origami folding!

Japanese Festival featuring Origami in the Garden
Students will be immersed in the rich culture and history of Japan with hands-on activities, traditional games, demonstrations, tours of Origami in the Garden and more! Take home projects include koi windsocks, kanji fans, and origami.
October 1-5 or March 18-22 / 10:00am-12:00noon
Grades 2-6. $6 per student.
Treat your class to some old-fashioned fun in the Garden. Make some traditional harvest crafts including cider making, pumpkin painting and corn husk flowers. Discovery stations teach fun facts about fruits and vegetables, honey making, and seed dispersal. Students will enjoy some harvest
fun while jumping in a haystack and picnicking with some old time pickin’ and grinnin’!
October 16-19, 23-26 & 30-31 / 10:00am-12:00noon
Grades K-4. $6 per student.

Fall Colors: Trees of Tennessee
Available throughout the month of November.
Visit the Garden when the trees are at their peak of fall color. Students will learn what makes the beautiful colors, “build” a tree, go on a scavenger hunt and plant a native tree seed to take home.

Holidays Around the World
Available throughout the month of December.
Learn how children all over the world celebrate the holiday season. Experience Posada, Japanese New Year, and Diwali by making pinatas, diya, and origami fireworks.

Once this request is submitted, our program coordinator will email you a confirmation and request for deposit. Your field trip will be finalized upon payment of deposit.

The natural world is the classroom for your students at the Memphis Botanic Garden!
Charges for programs include an instructor to lead your group, supplies for exciting take-home projects, Garden admission, and a chance to picnic in our Pine Grove (tables are first come, first served, so you may want to bring blankets.)
Registration & Payment:
To register, call Memphis Botanic Garden at 636-4126 during business hours. Please have desired program name, date, and number of students participating ready when registering.
We have a minimum registration of 15 students for all programs, excluding educational events/festivals. You may schedule a program for fewer students, but you will be expected to pay for 15.
We require a $75 deposit for all programs, due two weeks before the program date. The remaining balance is due on the day of your program.
Checks should be written for the number of students who actually come that day and made payable to Memphis Botanic Garden. Cash and credit cards are also accepted.
If you must cancel...
We must be notified of cancellations or considerable changes in number of students at least 2 weeks before your scheduled program.

If you are registered for a tour and decide not to come due to inclement weather, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can notify instructors. We will be happy to reschedule your visit for the next available date that your students can enjoy the Garden, or we can refund your deposit if you can't work out an alternative date.
Garden souvenirs and fish food are available at our sales cart.
Entry location may vary for programs or special events; details will be provided when you confirm. Buses can drive to the main entrance to allow students to enter and exit. Please have students wait outside main entrance while one teacher checks in.
Please be on time!
In order to accommodate as many groups as possible, our programs must operate on a tight time schedule. For larger groups, we ask that you arrive a few minutes early for unloading and class organization. Programs may have to be cut short for groups arriving late.
