Join the West Tennessee Chapter of the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council and the Memphis Botanic Garden for an  opportunity to learn about trees and issues facing the urban tree canopy. The class fee ($95) includes a digital  handbook and dues for both West Tennessee Urban Forestry Council and the state organization (upon submission of  completed examination). 

This course is designed for the general public, municipal employees and members of neighborhood associations,  tree boards, garden clubs and plant societies. Lectures and field work will cover tree biology, ID and selection,  risk management, diagnostics, site analysis, tree inventory, construction protection, and the role of federal, state,  and local agencies. Instructors include Eric Bridges, Overton Park Conservancy, Wes Hopper, Certified  Arborist, Joellen Dimond, U of M, Dr. David Mercker, Extension Forester, Deb Foehring, Dr. Mark Follis,  David Smith and Richard Beckwith. Participants who want to be certified as an Urban Forestry Advisor are  required to complete 20 volunteer hours in the field of Urban Forestry.
