Japanese Cultural Programs

Take a sunset candlelight tour of the Seijaku-en Japanese Garden of Tranquility, learn The Way of Tea in Tennessee, or join in a rice-pounding celebration to ring in the New Year!

Memphis Botanic Garden offers a variety of year-round classes and special events in conjunction with the Japan-America Society of Tennessee.

Watch our calendar of events for these special cultural opportunities, or contact Akemi Sommer at asommer@memphis.edu for additional information on their schedule of programs.

Ikebana is the Asian art of floral design. The Memphis Bamboo Chapter of Ikebana International meets on the third Friday of each month in the Rick Pudwell Horticulture Center for design classes. Space is limited, so registration is required for these sessions. Contact Jo Ann Boone, 854-6323 or JATBoone@gmail.com, to register.
