Metal Clay and Mokume. 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Join Art Clay Senior Instructor Brandy Boyd in this one-day workshop combining fine silver metal clay and polymer clay Mokume Gane. Learn how to create a 'reservoir pendant' that will showcase beautiful faux Mokume Gane in bright colors for a super wow factor.
You will have three design options for the pendant with templates provided for all. You'll learn clay working techniques, how to create original textures for truly one-of-a-kind pieces, and finishing techniques.
While your pieces are being kiln fired, you will explore techniques for creating a variety of mokume gane designs in polymer clay. After your fine silver pieces are fired, you'll learn how to inlay the clay, bake correctly and finally, how to hand finish both the metal and the polymer to a gorgeous, professional finish.
All materials are included in your class price and tools and equipment are provided for use in class. Class will start promptly at 10am. There will be a break for lunch- you may bring your lunch (there is a fridge and microwave) or order from the amazing onsite cafe- Fratelli's.
