Learn the art of the Japanese tea
ceremony with guest Tea Master Kentaro Ohkuni. The tea ceremony is the
ancient practice that expresses the essence of Japanese culture and
beauty. Tea itself was introduced from China in the 8th century and was a
rare and valuable commodity, grown in Japan for religious purposes
associated with Zen Buddhism. By the 13th century, tea was being
cultivated for use by the samurai class, and the roots of the elaborate
ceremony associated with tea drinking had begun.
Cost $20 for one or all
three sessions in same day. For additional information contact Patti
